Delay

For the five of you who look at this blog, I am sorry for the delay. I have been super busy lately and did not have time to post anything. Hopefully things have settled down and I can get back to (sort of) regulalry posting.

Two Months

image via cinderella project

The two month mark was a few days ago, but that was also Matt's birthday and I didn't want to steal his thunder. It is unreal to both Matt and I that our wedding is in TWO MONTHS. We have had some bumps in the road, but so far, I have really enjoyed being engaged and planning our wedding. It is going to be such an amazing day!

Inappropriate Wedding Songs

As I was looking for some alternative songs for our wedding reception cocktail hour playlist, I came across a list of the top 20 inappropriate songs to play at a wedding. These are hilarious. Hopefully no one would actually listen to these and think they were happy love songs. Here are some of my favorites in no particular order:

1. D-I-V-O-R-C-E by Tammy Wynette..this was number one on the list for pretty obvious reasons
2. If You Wanna Be Happy by Jimmy Soul
"If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife so for my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you". I mean, these lyrics are pretty hilarious, but I guess I understand why they might not be the most appropriate for a bride/groom 1st dance.
3. Better Man by Pearl Jam.. Anyone who knows Matt knows how much he loves Pearl Jam. This is probably one of his least favorites which is good b/c it will not be played at the wedding. We thought it would be hilarious for our slideshow, but unfortunately can't actually go through with that.
4. Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now by The Smiths Playing a song that makes you want to die at the end is never appropriate.
5. Gold Digger by Kanye West.. Everyone knows I am marrying Matt for his money already. No need to rub it in by playing this ditty.
6. It's the End of the World As We Know It by REM
7. Run for Your Life by The Beatles.. Threats in lyric form are not cool for a wedding.

Three More Months!!

88 days to be exact!!!!

Matt and I had a great time at our Pre-Cana/Engagement Retreat this weekend and are even more excited about getting married than ever!!!

Stay tuned for wedding party person of the week! I've already pulled their name out of the hat and am working on my write up!!!

Whaaat? I don't even know what to say!

So I was looking for a cute animal picture (pictures of dogs at weddings) to go along with my post that was going to say we only have THREE MORE MONTHS and came across this website, marryyourpet.com You literally pay to marry your pet. After entering the site, I came across Matilda, the pet and partner priest who has been in the profession for quite some time. She will marry you and your pet. I mean what is this? I think I am going to do this for Matt and Brother. I myself would marry Brother, but I married my cat, Willie, when I was 8..seriously, I did that.
Anyway, there are three levels of the pet marriage starting with the "Small Wedding", where you just receive a marriage certificate, but who wants that? I mean, yeah you need to make it official with the certificate and all, but if you are going to marry your pet, you really should go all out. I would get Matt and Brother the "Biggest Wedding". For a little over $400, Matt and Brother could not only get a marriage certificate, they would get a T-Shirt AND an embroidered wall plaque. Notice the detailed crosstitching. Gorg! Sign us up!
