Eeeee!!

These reception cards, done by Mr Boddington, are the cutest things I have ever seen. I love the fact that this couple had their wedding reception at the Central Park Zoo! So Fun! I am calling the Dallas Zoo right now to see if we can book it for our reception. haha! I have a crazy love for animals these name cards just make me so happy. Ugh I just love this. I don't know why the pictures came out so small, but click here to see the full story.

The sickness

I unfortunately have made myself sick shopping for shoes. Not just any shoes though, I am absolutely, 100 % OBSESSED with finding my wedding shoes. I have looked at every store from here to Tokyo and I have not found ANYTHING. I forced one of my bridesmaids to look in New York, send me pics from the approved designer list (haha) and still we found nothing. I only have a month and a half before I start my dress fittings and I NEED shoes. Where are they? Finding the dress was so easy and fun and this is literally becoming my nightmare! Rachel Zoe, where are you when I really need you?? I think I might just go barefoot at this point. Woe

Here are a few of my dream pairs that sadly not available or out of my $ range..which means they cost an ungodly amount of money since I am pretty willing to spend spend spend on these shoes!

Dual bachelor/bachelorette parties

Looks like Matt and I have planned our parties for the same weekend!!! I don't know why, but I feel kind of competitive since they are at the same time. The good thing about the party-off is that I won't be at home by myself (well with Brother of course) wondering what he and his crazy friends are doing. Ugh! My girlfriends and I are going to Los Angeles and staying at the sweet sweet Roosevelt and the guys are having a low maintenance trip down to one of the ushers, Michael Terry's, ranch. I don't know what the plan is once we get to LA, but I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!

Mutt vs Pure Breed

For my Christmas present, Matt has offered to get me a dog. We won't actually get one until after the honeymoon, but I have literally spent years trying to decide on the perfect dog to get. Since I have been volunteering at an animal orphanage, it is hard for me not to consider adopting. The only thing about adopting is that you aren't guaranteed to have a purebred dog(which Matt wants). Look at how adorable these mutts are..Agh I love them!
Here is one of the purebreeds that we are considering...

I am dying over this Boston Terrier! I just want to cry looking at him. What to do?? They are all so adorable!!

Our Registry

Matt and I had our first shower (thank you to the McLochlin's, Clark's, Hubach's, Kuntz's, Lattner's and Marsh's) this past weekend and I had more fun than I thought I would and that is saying a lot because I was really excited about it. I cannot believe how generous our friends and family are. We received things most of the things on our Crate and Barrel registry and so I had to re-load and pick new things to register for. Our next shower is going to be just as great. It is a home and garden shower and the invitation says we are registered at Crate and Barrel and Home Depot. Unfortunately HD does not have a registry so Matt and I just went up the aisles picking out things that we would need. It was amazing! I decided the best way to let our friends know what we wanted was to just put it on amidgettwedding so here is the list.

Wedding in Anguilla

I had seen this video awhile back when Matt and I first got engaged. I had this John Mayer song stuck in my head last night and it reminded me of the video. It was done by Elysium Productions for a gorgeous destination wedding in Anguilla. It is so beautiful and I dare you to watch the entire thing and not cry. Why is the bride so skinny and perfect? The groom crying at the alter.. UGH! It is so perfect! Hmmm..I am really regretting the decision not to use a videographer again.

Cakes

One of my favorite things we did for the wedding was our cake tasting. Unlike Matt who was adament about having peanut butter/chocolate cake, I didn't know what I wanted, but would have a great time trying to figure it out. Selecting the flavors was a painless and pretty simple decision since it was just based on what tasted the best. What is not easy about selecting a cake is deciding what it should look like. Neither Matt or I have very strong opinions on what our's should look like. I don't mind what color it is or how many tiers there are. I actually think it is HILARIOUS when people get caught up in how many tiers someone's wedding cake is. What does that even signify? Anyway, after doing lots and lots of research, I have selected my favorites!! Hopefully we can come up with something as cute as these!

Two of my favorite things morphed into one great big Obsession

I need a ticket to Paris ASAP!!!!
I will admit that I didn't always know what Laduree in Paris was, but after doing research on macaroons, I now know that it is where THE macaroons of all macaroons come from. I will also admit that I wasn't always obsessed with these cute little confections. I must be going through some kind of Blair Waldorf phase because ever since the engagement, I have been determined to have macaroons as favors at our wedding. I had accepted the fact that I was never going to get the Laduree macaroons and would have to settle for something local, but then I stumbled upon these puppies. Christian Louboutin for Laduree?? Two of my greatest obsessions for the wedding together as one? Why is CL torturing me? All I need now is to have them hanging from chandeliers and I will be set. Aghgh I need them!

Engagement Party Invitations

I honestly feel like the invitations for our wedding parties have been so amazing! The wonderful people who have picked them out are some of the most creative people and I feel like secretly they must be in competition with one another on who sends out the best invitation. This one was for our first party, the Engagement Party! We had the Hamburger Man come and our cake looked like a giant cheeseburger. The Kleins somehow found these amazing burger invitations, put them in burger baskets and mailed each one out to our friends. When Rita Klein debuted the "burgers", she came over in a chef's hat and apron. So funny!!

Gorgeous Inspiration

After telling someone what my vision for our wedding was, I honestly expected a positive reaction. But instead they told me that our wedding was going to be, "Tame". Tame isn't excactly what I was going for so I realized there must have been some sort of miscommunication on my part. Anyone who has walked through our hallway at home knows that my style is not very tame. I decided to take a different approach to communicate my vision so I made an inspiration board. Hopefully it changed his mind about my tame wedding. I guess we will see on March 6th. Anyway, here are my favorite pictures from the board.

If Matt and I were only a little more hipster-ish

Well, if we were hipsters at all, I would totally copy everything about this wedding. A. It is at the Parker Palm Springs which is an AMAZING hotel decorated by one of my faves, Jonathan Adler. You can see his influence throughout the table settings. B. I am obsessed with the mid century modern/hollywood glamor look! C. The bride's dress is perfection. What a gorgeous wedding!!!!

Yay Yay Yay for The Pictures

I am not even kidding when I tell you how excited we are to have The Pictures play at the wedding. They are going to be unbelievable, I just know it! Here is a video of them playing at Baylor Homecoming this year. I wish they still had the video of them singing, "Yeah" by Usher because that is really what sold me!
